Mindelo is the cultural capital of Cape Verde and famous for its vibrant night life far beyond the borders. At Mindelo the world famous singer Cesária Évora started her career and – due to her melancholic voice – put the group of islands on the map. The excellent artists of Mindelo Cultural perform on a high professional level and let you experience the heart of Cape Verdean culture.
The band Vida Boa exists since 2016 and consists of singer and guitarist Victor, bassist Ronny, keyboarder Gugas and percussionist Djodje. Vida Boa succeeds to musically transmit various atmospheres on a high level and touches the audience’s hearts. Their repertoire comprises musical styles of Cape Verde such as Morna, Funaná, Batuque and Coladeira as well as international pieces. The musicians of Vida Boa can be seen and heard in the most renowned restaurants and bars of Mindelo and can be booked for weddings, business and other events as well. Erik David, better known as Dzenh Afronauta, was born 1991 in Praia and moved as a child to São Vicente where he first became involved with Rap. In 2011 with group members like Mark Delman, Gugu Boy, Kleiser, DNA and Kleiser Erik changed the course of national rap, especially inspiring the younger generation. Erik sang as a chorister at BandaXL, which accompanies several well known artists such as Mirri Lobo, Elji Beatzkilla, Jennifer Dias,
Tó Semedo, Lura, Loony Johnson, Dynamo etc. In the beginning of 2024 Erik released his first solo album “Sankofa” and in spring 2025 his new single “NVP” which are available on all digital platforms.
In summer 2025 he surprised his fans with his first reggae composition. Altough Dzenh Afronauta is the new shooting star of the next generation of talented artists he remained rooted in the cultural heritage of his homeland sharing traditional rhythms combined with RapKriolo.
